WOW CHAMONIX – A FRESH SNOW EVENT FOR LADIES WHO LAUNCH

Momentum is snowballing in Mont Blanc for a new niche ladies event with BIG ideas: WOW Chamonix. WOW looks set to cause a stir in the valley known for big mountains and testosterone. For the weekend of April 9 – 11 2010, Chamonix will be playground of the goddesses, with women flocking from neighbouring resorts and the U.K. to join in the three day Women of Winter fiesta. Organisers Annabel Wilson and Jo Guest are expecting over 40 participants to enjoy the snow barbeque, on-mountain performance clinics, ski and snowboarding team challenges, yoga and massage sessions and WOW party, all in the name of charity..
WOW is the dreamchild of long-time snomad, Jo Guest. Inspired by the drive and camaraderie she encountered when riding big mountains with friends all over the world, she organised the first WOW event at Mt Olympus, New Zealand, last year: ( http://wowolympus.wordpress.com ). The event was a huge success; the word about WOW spread and pretty soon people from the Northern Hemisphere were clamouring for their turn. While there are snow clinics and tours to work on your freestyle and freeriding skills, authentic Savoyard dining & great apres ski, WOW Chamonix is also a great networking opportunity, designed to facilitate connections for future expeditions, projects and businesses.
Jo’s vision is all about leveraging the mountain spirit and motivation of participants, whilst assisting WOW’s chosen charities. She explains: “WOW was created as an ideas exchange in the mountains, where we can trade knowledge and skills, share past experiences and plan future adventures.” All this is achieved through mountain-time, chatter and laughter while raising money for Breast Cancer Research and Alpine Initiatives.
Annabel stepped in this year to drive the project in Chamonix, revving up her local knowledge and generous contacts to make for an awesome European debut WOW!
WOW is set to shake up Chamonix with a refreshing, action-packed new snow event for the girls.
