GOLD COAST, Queensland/Australia (Wednesday, February 23, 2011) –The Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover is just a few short days away from commencing and the opening event of the season will be headlined by none other than reigning 10-time ASP World Champion Kelly Slater (USA), 39.
The iconic natural-footer utilized the off-season to recharge in his adopted homes of Hawaii and California, working on equipment and taking advantage of the winter swell season.
“I’ve been hanging in Hawaii and getting boards sorted out in California and having down time,” Slater said. “Surfing myself out most of January was fun.”
Historically coy about his annual plans, Slater maintains that his agenda for 2011 is still undecided, but is motivated to open the season up in high-performance righthand pointbreak of Snapper Rocks. (Lire la suite…)

BURLINGTON, VT (February 24, 2011) Burton congratulates team rider Peetu Piiroinen on today’s news from TTR that he has officially secured his third consecutive men’s title, a feat that no other snowboarder can claim. Peetu will get his $50,000 check from TTR and his third championship trophy at the Burton US Open on March 12, when the men’s and women’s Swatch TTR World Tour Champions will officially be crowned.
Because of Peetu’s impressive results this season, TTR officially announced that it was mathematically impossible for anyone to catch up to him, even with several weeks left on the tour. With the rare ability to dominate slopestyle, halfpipe and big air events, Peetu can now head to the US Open in two weeks with one of the sport’s biggest titles already in the bag.

“UN GENRE À MOI TOUTE SEULE.”
Par Stéphane Robin – Photo Hassan Hajjaj

A QUOI PENSE-T-ON QUAND ON ÉCOUTE HINDI ZAHRA ? AU SABLE CHAUD DU MAROC, À UN CAFÉ DU 18E ARRONDISSEMENT DE PARIS, AU CIEL BLEU DE L’ARGENTINE… ? PEU IMPORTE. ON EST BIEN.
… I want to lose myself.
