With a host of stars – Kelly Slater, Jeremy Flores, Mick Fanning, Jordy Smith, Tiago Pires - the Quiksilver Pro France is one of the showcase surf competitions of the year, followed by tens of thousands of spectators on the beach and 3.5 million via the live webcast in 2010.
World class waves
With the approach of autumn, the Landes coast is blessed with spectacular waves, making this a must see stop on the ASP World Tour. The 2010 edition was marked by the most epic conditions, which provided some of the best surf sessions ever seen in Europe. This year, like the other great years before, Quiksilver hopes to provide a taste of the Hawaiian North Shore on the Landes coast.
60 km of beaches
From St Jean De Luz to Seignosse and passing by Capbreton and Hossegor, is 60 kilometres of coast, which offer optimum conditions for the best surfers in the world. From 4-13 October – the waiting period for the event - the competition will be run at the very best spots in one of the 4 municipalities thanks to a mobile site. The objective is clear; to get the world’s best surfers on the very best waves.
10 years!
Over the last decade, the Quiksilver Pro France has forged a reputation for the best beach breaks and one of the most prestigious events of the ASP World Championships. By casting an eye over the past winners of the event (Andy Irons 3 victories; Joel Parkinson 1 victory; Mick Fanning 3 victories) you understand that Hossegor and Seignosse is the reserve of only the very best. It takes a big name in surfing to get an inscription on this trophy such as the master Kelly Slater (USA) and the top Europeans, Jeremy Flores (FRA), Tiago Pires (POR) and Michel Bourez (TAH).
