We find ourselves under the ”Toblerone-Mountain”, also called Matterhorn. In Zermatt to be precise. After the Big Mountain Day on Sunday, the whole crew was ready for the Backcountry Slopestyle Contest and an early start on this Thursday morning. The skiers, the Swatch crew, the guys from Freeride World Tour and Media, all of us wanted to know who’s gonna win the Swatch Skiers Cup 2013. Freezing temperatures and sunshine were also part of the setting. Team Captain Europe, Kaj Zackrisson opened up the event for his team but his strong opponent Rory Bushfield won the first point for Team Americas. The first round was dominated by the Europeans and Youngster Markus Eders sick line was one of many highlights. If one did a little math it was clear that with the 6-2 lead of Team Europe the winner was set after the first round already. But those guys wouldn’t be part of the Swatch Skiers Cup if they didn’t keep the show on-going. The second round was full of stoked riders, insane freestyle elements and sick lines.

Under the midday sun of Zermatt, Kaj Zackrisson and his team finally got the trophy back into Europeans Hands. The whole Freeski Family celebrated with them and it was proven once more: the real playground of a Freeskier is wherever the stoke is. And for today, Zermatt was definitely the place to be.
