Like in a western, you need to eliminate your adversaries before you can touch the loot. With a generous € 10 000 of prize-money for the skiing, divided as follows, there will definitely be stiff competition:
1st : € 5 000
2nd : € 3 000
3rd : € 1 500
4th : € 500
As for the snowboarding, the hold-up will be done in groups as the competition pits 4 crews against each other. Each group needs to prove that they’ve got what it takes by producing the best video of their exploits. The loot is just as mouth-watering for the snowboarders. It’s divided as follows:

The sixth edition of the internationally known Kick The Vik Eco Freeride Contest takes place march 22-24 at Maighels Hut in the Oberalp region. The creative KTV Eco Freeride Contest goes back to its roots and reintroduces riders voting. As competition fades into the background the desire for pure freeriding with buddies enters the stage. Eco spirit remains the central element of the event: there will be no skidoos, no lifts, no helicopters and no avalanche triggering. The eco event shall not disturb the peace and quiet of the Maighels valley. All Kick The Vik events are open to skiers, snowboarders and telemarkers.

The unique concept of the KTV Eco Freeride Contest has been fascinating freeriders over the past years. Breathtaking mountains, nature at its purest and breakneck action are the key elements of the event. Participants reach the Maighels Hut SAC after a two hour hike from the Oberalp pass. There are no lifts, no snow mobiles, no helicopters, only human powered action. Contestants and crew carry all their equipment up to the hut and further up to the drop in. (Lire la suite…)
